Hi, I'm Nicole!

I'm the face behind Speechie in Spokane, but I'm not just your average speech therapist. My colorful personality and lightheartedness allows me to connect with children on a whole new level. I create a warm, supportive, and engaging environment so your child is motivated and having fun while learning new skills. Growing up, I struggled with ADHD which made it difficult to complete daily tasks and academic coursework. As a neurodivergent entrepreneur, I have learned to accept and appreciate my differences and speak freely about what makes me who I am today. Now, it is my mission to help children improve their speaking intelligibility so they too can speak with confidence, connect with others, and be truly heard.

Parents often feel lost or defeated when seeking support for their child's speech, but you don't have to. As a licensed and certified Speech-Language Pathologist with over 8 years of experience, I specialize in treating children with articulation and phonological disorders. I have seen firsthand how evidence-based approaches and creating personalized treatment plans for each child's specific needs can have lifelong impacts.

  • I hold the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), a nationally recognized professional credential that represents a level of excellence in the field of speech language pathology (CCC-SLP)

  • I'm one of the few Speech-Language Pathologists in the area specializing in assessing and treating speech sound disorders

  • I work closely with parents and caregivers throughout the therapy process to provide education, training, resources, and home exercise programs to expedite your child's progress

  • LGBTQIA+ affirming and committed to providing inclusive care

Why I do this work

When a child is difficult to understand, it affects more than just speech. It impacts classroom participation, friendships, and confidence. I’ve seen how quickly a child can begin to withdraw when they are constantly asked to repeat themselves. I’ve also seen the transformation that happens when their words become clear and their confidence grows.

Clear speech changes how a child sees themselves.

And that changes everything.

My Approach: Empowering and Evidence-Based

At Spokane Speechie LLC, therapy is:

  • Individualized – Your child is not a diagnosis. I create a plan based on their specific strengths and needs.

  • Empowering – We build skills and confidence together. Therapy is supportive, never shaming.

  • Practical – I focus on what is meaningful to your child and incorporating your child's interests in therapy so they are better understood by friends and loved ones at school and at home.

  • Collaborative – Parents know their child best! I work closely with parents and caregivers throughout the therapy process to ensure you understand what we’re targeting and how to support retention of your child's progress at home.

I use evidence-based treatment approaches designed to improve articulation, speech clarity, and overall intelligibility.
